Halfling (Lightfoot) Point Buy Guide for D&D 5e
Lightfoot Halfling is one of the most underrated races in 5e. Halflings live in quiet, comfortable communities, and their wanderlust is legendary — or in the case of Lightfoot Halflings, their ability to slip unnoticed through the world is famous. The Shire-style communities of Halflings throughout the Forgotten Realms mask an adventurous streak. Lightfoot Halflings' Naturally Stealthy trait reflects their ability to blend into crowds and disappear behind obstacles. In Curse of Strahd, several Halfling NPCs demonstrate this uncanny survival instinct.
Mechanical Traits
Lightfoot Halfling traits: +2 DEX, +1 CHA, Lucky (when you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll and must use the new roll), Brave (advantage vs frightened), Halfling Nimbleness (you can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours), Naturally Stealthy (can hide when obscured only by a creature one or more sizes larger). Lucky is the standout — a natural 1 is supposed to be your worst possible roll, but Halflings get a do-over.
